Chaplain

Chaplaincy & Spiritual Counseling

As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the hospice chaplain is responsible for the provision of spiritual support and counsel consistent with patient/family needs, desires and belief systems.  Hospice chaplains are specially trained healthcare workers who attend to the spiritual needs of a vast variety of individuals whose only similarity may be their terminal illness.  Whereas a pastor needs to be familiar with specific and limited religious expressions and practices, a chaplain is familiar with a wide range of religious and spiritual expressions.
